Over the last few weeks, we’ve taken a close look at Jesus’ words in John 14:6—how He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We’ve focused on how specific and singular that word "THE" really is.
Today, let's look at the second half of that verse:
"No one comes to the Father except through Me."
When you look at those words, the message is remarkably clear: Jesus isn't offering one trail among many options. He is declaring that there is THE path.
In our world today, people love the idea that all roads eventually lead to the same destination—that as long as you are sincere, good-hearted, or trying your best, any trail will get you to God. But Jesus cuts through all of that confusion. He makes it plain that there are no alternative routes, no side entrances, and no back doors.
Think about being lost in a dense forest. If someone who knows the woods inside and out comes along and says, "There is only one marked trail out of here, and it leads straight home," you don't feel restricted. You feel relieved! You don't argue about wanting more choices—you stop wandering, stop guessing, and step onto the trail.
That’s what Jesus does for us here.
Human religion loves to construct dozens of different trails—endless rules, personal performance, moral effort, and checklists—hoping one of them might reach God. But Jesus points to Himself as THE path. Getting to the Father isn't about figuring out a complex maze of our own making; it's about trusting the one way Christ already paved on the cross.
If you’ve been exhausting yourself trying to figure out if you're "doing enough" or trying to clear your own way to God, take a deep breath today. The path home isn't a secret, complicated formula. It’s a Person.
Step onto THE path. Rest in Him.
