Now What?

"Now What? Don't Just Run... Stand"

Grab a fresh cup of coffee and pull up a chair.

You dropped anchor. You cleared away the spiritual clutter. You gave your burden to Jesus... and then Monday morning arrived.

You’re standing at the edge of your bed asking the question almost every believer faces at some point: "Now what?"

Our natural human instinct when we hit that moment is to jump into high gear. We feel like we need to instantly run down the road, adopt a dozen new religious habits, read fifty books, and prove that we're making progress. But when we rush ahead in our own energy, we usually end up exhausted, confused, and right back in the clutter we just escaped.

Here is the truth you need to hold onto today: you aren't doing this on your own.

You are already anchored in the finished work of Christ. You are already yoked to Him—attached to Someone who is infinitely stronger than you. Your job isn't to drag the load through sheer willpower; it's to walk in step with the One who carries it.

Jeremiah 6:16 gives us a clear, patient way forward:

"This is what the Lord says: 'Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.'"

Notice the order God gives us. He doesn't say "run." He doesn't say "hustle."

  1. STAND. Before you take a single step, stop rushing. Standing still is perhaps the hardest spiritual skill to learn because our pride wants to be doing something. But standing allows you to catch your breath, remember that you are yoked to Jesus, and recognize where you actually are.

  2. ASK. Look for the ancient path—the simple, unburdened truth of Jesus and His Word—rather than modern religious gimmicks or human opinions.

  3. WALK. Only after you have stood still and looked to Him do you begin to walk—not in your own strength, but matching His stride, resting in His strength every step of the way.

If you’re standing at a spiritual crossroads today asking "Now what?", don’t rush down the road alone. Take a breath. Stand still. Remember who you're yoked to, look to Jesus, and let Him lead the way.

Simple.

Until next time, keep your heart anchored in the Simple Truth.
